As I get older, I am thinking more and more about the short amount of time that we have on this earth to become all that God desires that we become. And, I've been thinking that we spend a lot of time setting goals for our earthly, temporary lives, but do we invest time in thinking about making our lives count for the Kingdom while we're here?
As a result of this thought processes, I have made some definite plans to become. I want to become like Apollos and Paul. If I could be a perfect mixture of them, I would be soooo happy, a female version of them. In Acts 18, God's Word says that Apollo was "an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures....being fervent in spirit...speaking and teaching accurately the things of the Lord...boldly"!!! Wow!!! Then, combine that with Paul: "serving the Lord with all humility....I kept back nothing that was helpful". What an amazing combination!
How do I plan to "become Apollisina and Paulina"? Well, first, I am making myself accountable on the journey by starting this blog. I hope that by having that little nagging thought in my mind, that I need to blog will compel me to be actively seeking what I have set as my goal. Then, I have made a plan to teach the Bible inductively (the whole counsel of God) in the next 20 years. Lofty goal, yes. Long-term, definitely. Impossible? For with God nothing is impossible!!! I can do this!
I hope that you will join me on the journey. Keep me in prayer, that I be focused, that I be organized with my time, that when the moments of discouragement come (and they will), the Lord will keep me pressing on toward the prize.
